Thanks,  that's what I thought.  The date range got me wondering though.  Just purchased the right one from someone else, looking forward to the installation!

If the wheel has any extra buttons like you suggest, it will not work, at least not easily. The only sources of three spoke
wheels that fit without significant work are in this diagram:
