Paul, I too ordered a set for my 95.5 S6 a little over a year ago. I also  
noticed they really didn't fit, but because I wanted to support this 
American  made company, I kept them and have been using them ever since. They have  
survived one Colorado winter so far. I am making them work.
 
The biggest challenge is that the drivers side mat slips up and I have to  
pull it back down on occasion.

Well, I'm returning them, but I still need new floor  mats.  Other than 
running to the local parts store and getting a set  of generic, I'd like 
to get a set that utilizes the retaining posts.   Do we know of a 
brand/part# that work? I'd really like some all-weather  ones.
