Ah yes - the rivets - when I looked at those, then found that F5 would sell be the entire assembly - I was quite pleased that I wouldn't have to drill those out and re-install.

I'll def keep the DIY for future reference.

Vittorio: Sorry. I haven't been on the list yet this month and missed your post. Congrats on figuring it all out. Strange you didn't mention rivets (I thought that the 95.5 regulators were rivetted into the door window cassette as opposed to the earlier bolted-in versions).

Nevertheless, for future reference, here is a driver's door window replacement DIY that I did last June. It might help someone in the future (I am pretty sure I posted this link before, but, if not, here it is):
