[s-cars] Audi 200 Front outside CV

Mike,

Entire axle is easier absolutely! Cheaper... OE $600-700 ea, the "off
brand" rebuilds are way cheaper and last maybe 20K miles; both are shot on
this particular 200. I've found that a used unit which has NOT been
reground or run with a split boot you are better to clean it out, put a
fresh quality boot on it. I've got one's I did 8 years and 70k miles ago
holding up just fine. Added bonus is that my son can do this himself and
learn a bit more about maintenance.

Was one offered a Chinese "knock off" unit for the LT-1Q at a local parts
supplier, was easily 30% lighter mostly because it was significantly
smaller in shaft diameter. Not going to work for anything beyond a NA
motor, definitely not going to last long in a Chevy LT-1 powered beast.

Cheers
