[s-cars] Diagnosing misfire cause

I had a very frustrating "hiccup" where the car would almost "quit running" for a half second then run as if nothing happened. It happened in any and all conditions ... Temperature (ambient/operating) throttle application, boost/vacuum...you choose.  It was totally random. I tried all sorts or fuel and spark-related fixes. Finally borrowed an ECU and that cured the issue. It turns out the ignition driver chips had started to fail. It's worth a shot before you dump any (more) money into attempted fixes. 

Just a thought. It's darned frustrating chasing issues like that.
