Thanks Mike,
If it's a faulty lock mechanism, which it appears it might be, then this
idea might be worth pursuing. I'll look into this as soon as the
weather breaks a bit more and I can afford to have the car off-line for
a couple days in case I can't get it to close again if the latch
mechanics are for crap.
