Hi Cody!
Small world. Your customer is a great guy and a real enthusiast. I miss
the old timers like yourself (Taka, Hap, Lee, Bob, Paul, Vancouver dudes,
too many to name, yada yada) as I learned so many valuable things from the
list. 13 years worth!
I now have something different: a turbocharged sedan, super functional
interior, 6 speed, 300 hp, great brakes, and good handling AND with a good
ride quality. And while it took about a month to let go of my Audi, it has
occurred, and I now genuinely enjoy my 535xi '09. Yes, it looks like sh*t
from any angle you can see the tail lights, and yes, I swore I would never
buy a bangle butt car - ever. The controls are heavy but nice and the twin
turbo motor is the center attraction. Very very nice. The car has a
jeckyl/hyde personality which I love. I'm going to spring for a Dinan chip,
because it's Soooo conservatively boosted - feels like a linear V8 and not a
turbo monstah. And, my good karma selling the Audi paid a dividend. Took
the car into an independent shop when I got it to have fluids changed and to
fix up a rattle-y exhaust shield. Turns out the rattle is the
wastegate(both of them) and that BMW has extended coverage on that (up to
80k miles) so I get 2 new turbos, a week of free loaner car, and a free
shampoo/blow dry! On my used car! I'm a lucky man, yes I am...
Get your client and Hap connected so he can see the pics/description of the
green monstah -- just for fun.
Steve

Steve we were talking about you not long ago on here. You sold it to my
customer! It's in good hands now. After I finish his RSR we are adding a bit
of power to the S, then starting on the 962 if we can secure a gearbox. I'm
secretly hoping the 962 gearbox falls through as plan B for that budget is
building a replica late '80's vintage racers with rings to campaign in
HSR/SVRA. I'll let the list guess on which one, but with my background and
fleet known around here that shouldn't be hard ;-).
