Hi Guys!
Sold my S6 last year after 15 years and just happened to peek at this list update. Glad to see you're at it Dave F! Hi to every one else. :)
I've got to weigh in on plug tightness. Yes, plugs need to be torqued correctly and yes it can't really hurt to check.
The issue in my direct/confirmed experience is this >>> you can get false torque readings because your socket binds with the head - you think you're tight when really you've just measured the socket binding against the lower bore radius. Btdt.
I have 6 different sockets which I acquired to remedy this issue -tried craftsman, cheapo, others. I found that the (thinner wall higher quality)snap-on is the only socket that you can use w/o worry of this phenomenon. Yes, the others will work, but you need to be extra careful a) be aligned and b) raise the socket up like 1/8 inch after seating on the plug to avoid the radius altogether.
I really think plug zealots should check this out - it's what's happening!
Best to you all -
Steve V
