[s-cars] Trouble Programming IR Remote

Peter,

Thanks for the advice.

Yes - everything works as it should when using the key to manually 
lock/unlock from both the driver's and passenger front doors - all doors 
lock/unlock (and trunk) along with the beep from the trunk.

No, the door lock has never been replaced - it's still original. I did 
have to replace the door latch mechanism as that part wore out.

I'll have to check on the broken wire in the door harness.  I never 
thought about the central locking system not receiving a signal from the 
key lock to know what start the lock is currently in.  I agree that this 
will require a warm day as I'd need to do this outside where I can swing 
the door to full open for best access which means this repair might have 
to wait a couple months.  I'll at least take a look while the car is in 
my garage today and see if there is anything clear and easy to see - you 
never know.
