[s-cars] AC compressor shuts off at 42 degrees F

Compressor cutoff at 42F sounds about right. Certainly not less than 40F. Make sure your cowl drains are clear so you aren't sucking in any more moisture than necessary, and make sure to clean the inside of the windshield to reduce the tendency to fog up.

The S6 is the best car I've ever owned as far as not fogging up. I even got through two winters without the defroster working--stuck flap that freed itself and started working again two years later!  In this case my procrastination paid off and saved me pulling the interior apart to get to the flap motor!
