I've been on this list a long time (since 2000???), and benefited tremendously from all the discussion and advice. I loved that UrS4 and this list was invaluable in helping me take care of it. Even as the car aged and more things broke, I continued to lovingly repair and maintain it. Recognizing that the UrS4 wasn't as reliable as it used to be, I bought a biturbo S6 as its replacement four years ago. But I dragged my feet on selling the UrS4, because I still loved that car.

Then my wife, who is the true love of my life, was diagnosed with cancer. She left this world in July, leaving me with two young boys (ages 6 and 8). My priorities have been dramatically reordered, and it turns out letting go of the UrS4 isn't as hard as it was before. I was going to donate the car, but it's a special car and I didn't want it to end up in an auction with used up clunkers. Instead, I listed the car at a good price on several sites.

I'm donating the proceeds to metastatic breast cancer research, and here is where I will get on the soapbox for a moment. Metastatic cancer is the real problem. Vast amounts of money are being donated to organizations that promote awareness and screening and support programs, all of which are important, but only a small percentage of that amount is going to metastatic cancer research. The next time you donate to a cancer charity, I urge you to think about what that money will be used for, and whether it will actually save lives. My wife and I have been supporting the Breast Cancer Research Foundation and UCSF's metastatic breast cancer research, and there are other worthy research-oriented cancer charities as well.

The new owner is a mechanic at a local shop, so I'll be seeing the car from time to time. I expect it will receive all the attention and care it deserves, that I've been unable to give it in recent years. It has a GT2871 turbo and a DW300 fuel pump, so it's ready for the RS2 chipset that I included with the car.

Thanks to all of you on this list for the advice and support that you've provided over the years.
