[urq] OEM parts availability

I would be basing any future decision to purchase a new or newer AUDI based on my experience with parts availability on the older ones I've owned. Many folks who buy a high-end car like AUDI do it because they want to own them for life, and if the parts won't be available, then would have to switch brands.

Brady has given a good example of a part that should never have been discontinued.

[Hi Bill/All,
There is an undercurrent in your post that upsets me. From it I get the
impression that Audi feels it's off the hook since some older Audi owners
HAVE BEEN FORCED to come up with alternatives to NLA or outrageously priced
parts. Casting Fool's making a few sets (example here) of 4k bumper dummy
light covers to satisfy a local demand does not absolve Audi of its duty to
its older car owners. Making new parts from scratch takes time and money.
Time and money spent by Audi owners because they love their cars. Time and
money which I'm sure they would have loved to have been able to spend
elsewhere (probably on their Audis though, maybe at the Audi dealer parts
counter).
