[urq] warning light/alternator issues

 Hi all...Happy Holidays!
I'm having some problems with my alternator and the dash warning lights. As some may remember, I mistakenly hooked up the large wire from the alternator to the starter solenoid ground and drove it like that for 3 days. Now, the only warning lights that come on when I turn the key are the brake light and the seatbelt light. I removed the D+ wire and grounded it, and the alt., OXY lights came on, as well as the brake and seatbelt lights. I hooked up an "outside" ground wire and touched the water temp and oil pressure lights and they came on and off as I touched the ground wire to them. I also notice that my rear defog light blinks with the emergency flashers and when the lights are on, after I start the car, they get brighter when the revs go beyond 3k.
I've read that I need to trace the D+wire to find an open circuit, as well as trace the ground for the instrument cluster. Has anyone got any good experience with this? The car runs good, all the electrics work, just this problem that I can't figure out.
 Thanks in advance
Gary
