I went with the fiberglass ones because they seemed
like they would hold up better to the heat. They did
take a little work to fit up. I had to take some
fiberglass filler and make a flat spot on the bottom.
to do this I cut the hole in the hood, then put
packing tape on the hood. Then smeared the filler on
the bottom of the vents and put them on the hood so
I'd get a perfect mating suface on the bottom after
they cured. Sand them down smooth, paint and stick
them on with double sided tape.
I can't provide any numbers, but I know they're
helping just by the amount of heat that you can see
coming out of them. An added bonus I used later was
the added clearence under the hood for mounting my TPS
on my 4kq throttle body:)
