Well, yes, you're completely right - it is contradictary, but there is
some reasoning behind it! APC is a completely standalone and
not-very-complicated system - the car will function and drive without
it. While installing the MC wiring harness etc could leave the car
inoperable for some long period. Adding APC is really just an
interesting opportunistic extra... if it is really feasible. Maybe it's
not.
Yes, the MC or MC2 is the better swap, but we would rather have the car
on the road and driving with a WX than in pieces in the garage for the
entire summer - my fear.
I understand what you're saying, but as we now have the good WX engine
sitting next to the car, I think that's what will be going in, with or
without APC.

Thats a good point, though it doesn't look terribly hard to adjust the
valve clearances (in the Bentley manual - which I do so far despise
with all my heart - it looks pretty similar to the fiat procedure,
which I did last weekend).
