Graham,

The boss below and to the rear of the thermostat housing, near cylinder #2 
works well for a knock sensor.  I too had considered the Saab APC system, but 
decided to go with J&S Safeguard, an aftermarket programmable knock sensor 
system.  The knock sensor's sensitivity can be adjusted, which allows you to 
compensate for any normal engine noises, such as solid lifter clatter.

Overall I am pleased with the system, and consider it one of the best 
modifications I have made to my WX powered Ur Quattro.  With a modified CIS injection 
system, I can run 20lbs. of boost on street gas.  The WX has plenty of 
developmental potential and can reliably produce 300+ hp.
