[urq] Paint Touch Up?

Looking for some advice (links to web sites etc.) on DIY
paint touch up for body work. My attempts with spray cans
never look very good. Any good reading and tips on how to 
touch up areas and hard to get areas (door jambs).

I was thinking a small compressor powered air sprayer, similar
to the ones used to paint model cars might be better? I
realize matching the paint is another issue but I think I 
need some basic advice (again)?

p.s. My "alpine" white ur'q is several colours of white
and tomorrow I find out if it is any more reliable.
