[urq] options for IC-IM hose on '83 WX

Last weekend I managed to drop only one socket in the snow and my
shoes didn't leak while standing in the mud as I accessorized my intake
hose with shiny silver tape.

Do we listers all have a violent affection for the factory part 
(035-145-746B) or
has somebody made a tube with a tap for the side pipe and used off the 
shelf hose ?
I would think the latter costs less and would lead into replacing the 
baby intercooler
with a much improved BAFMIC.
