[urq] winter tire / rim question ??????

Martin, I have to disagree.

ET45 means the inner mounting surface is 45 mm outside of the centerline
of the rim.

So if you compare a 15x6 and a 15x10 (both ET45), you will see that the 4
inch difference is spreaded in half on both side of the rim.

See the drawing there (http://www.skulte.com/adapterfaq.html).

But I think you are right, since the Fuchs are 15x7 ET45 and they don't
rub, then Bob's wheels must be less than ET45.

?????????

I have 195/65/15 Nokian on ET45 and no problems ever... pleanty of
space...
Are you sure the rims are ET45?
Stock '83 Ur-q is 205/60/15 with ET45.... it does not make sense for
195/65
to rub on the same rim...
Even if the rims width is different it should nto make difference where
the
tire center and therefore edges are.

Let us know.

Cheers

What are you guys running for winter rubber size on your UrQs? I just
got a set of 195/65/15's on ET45 rims and they dont fit (rub the spring
perches). OE wheel is ET24.... Which combo works?

Bob
