Jim,
This is exactly the kind of information we need on this side
of the Atlantic, from the press Scorpion look like the right choice.

Thanks, Mike

Scorpions are shite - the hangers are just plain wrong and you just can't
get the bloody things to hang right without banging hell out of the bottom
of the car.
I've said it before and I'll keep saying it - the only totally SS exhaust
that _fits_ the Ur-q is the one from the Quattro Workshop. It took me 45
minutes to fit - including putting the rear of the car on stands and I've
never had to adjust it. Sounded a little tinny to start with but within a
couple of weeks it settled to a deep burble until you boot it when it roars.

If I could justify it I'd get one for my early car too but as I've owned the
thing 18 months and only driven it a few yards and it's still got no tax or
MoT I'm going to cobble a system up from my old Scorpion centre box with my
fabricated hanger and an Ansa mild steel back box. Still in two minds
though, I might just phone Roger....
Regards,

Jim Haseltine

A question for UK based listers (I think - depends if you have experience of
Milltek and Scorpion overseas). I have a single box Scorpion SS exhaust on
my 87 WR. It came with the car when I bought it and it was fun to start with
and sounds wonderful on the over-run but is wearing on a long journey. What
are your experience of Scorpion and Milltek. My options seem to be:
a. Buy earplugs - nice and cheap and doesn't deprive other of the glorious
I5 sound.
b. Buy a centre box section from Scorpion (if I can get one) - but will it
really quieten it down as I would like? Will it fit well?
c. Buy a complete Milltek system - I have no experience of Milltek so would
like to know about sound, fit and quality.
Needless to say, whichever route I take I don't want to compromise
performance.
All advice welcome.

Many thanks

Keith

p..s for those of you who kindly replied to my query over "Poor Starting"
the latest news is that I have still not yet found the cause and am
persevering.
