[urq] No horn problem fixed

Hi gang,

Some of you may recall a month ago where I posted about my horns not
working because the steering column was ungrounded whenever the ignition
key was in. With holiday time off, I decided to replace the upper plastic
housing that covers the ignition switch. To do this you need to remove the
ignition lock assembly. In addition to removing the bolt and putting the
key in the ignition, you need to remove a locking spring retainer. In my
case, that retainer was already loose. "Good", I thought, "that makes
getting things out easier." I confirmed that the steering column shaft
cannot obtain ground through the support bearing and the end of the
collapsible shaft is mounted in nylon fittings keeping it well
insulated. After replacing the plastic cover, I re-assembled the column
taking care to insert the locking spring retainer with a deep well
socket. To my delight, the horns started working again. Guess that spring
does more than just keep the column extended.

Regards,
