Brandon, I had mine done at a local Auto Body shop by a certified appraiser. He knew about Urq's but was not a urq appraiser. Had pictures taken and he stamped it. I sent copies of the pics and noterized appraisal to my Insurance Agent. This allows my insurance company proof that I'm not trying to collect close to $10,000 on a CGT. It was the first Urq he has ever appraised and knew the history on the cars, but he was no expert on them. I would think in the CO. area there would be plenty of places to get a Urq appraised. I would ask your mechanic or a shop noted for working on quattros where to go.
My insurance company is The Premier but I deal with an independant insurance agent (Dennis McCurdy Inc.) who I've dealt with for the last 15 yrs. They have always treated me great and are the ones who told me about getting the car apraised. I run regular insurance (not classic car) so I can drive it anywhere. To keep my bill and risk down I take the car off the road in the winter time and run fire and theft on it. Never had a problem. I suggest talking to an independant insurance agent instead of an insurance company. They are more personable than a monster company like Gieco or Commerence. HTH Mike C
