Yep. it was caused prolly by a BAD(negligent) technician doing a tranny (like a clutch job) R+R on your car he put the bolts back in the top and skipped the locknuts on the bottom half of the bracket, for parts try chris at force5auto.com
Regards, Bill, yeah I know what happened to your steering, bad work, tell chris you need the two piece zinc chromate plated brackets that hold the tie rod ends to the steering rack

Subject: [urq] Sterring Rack Braket
Hi everyone.
I was backing out of a parking spot the other day when
I heard a mild clunk, and lost all the steering
ability on my 88 model 90 Q. I had the car towed home
and started looking for the problem. I noticed that
the steering bracket that the tie-rod arms tie into,
broke away form the steering rack, leaving one broken
half still bolted to the steering and the other still
attached to the two steering arms.
Has anyone experienced anything like this before?
Also, I am having trouble finding a replacement for
the broken bracket. If anyone has any suggestion, I
would gladly appreciated. thanks In advance.
Tony : 83 URQ, 88 model 90Q.
