Thanks to all that replied.
I followed the advice (and my own intuition) and pulled the fronts back off
and compared with the rears once I had them off. It looked rather logical by
proportion to reverse the fronts to the rear. I installed the taller springs on
the front and the shorter units on the rear. The car now sits like all the 84s
and 85s I have seen. I really like the look and the ride doesn’t seem that
much stiffer or harsher. All the quick responses really helped me decide to go
ahead and swap the fronts to the back. I apologize for cross posting, but it
did garner the number of responses that really helped me wrap it up tonight. The
H&R" "s compliment the Bilstiens _very_ well!
So the final answer is- Taller springs 100 VA = front, and shorter 055 =
rear.
I don’t know if it’s a good or bad sign, but I’m getting to the place that I
can have the struts off either end of the car in about 20 minutes or less.
Next I’ll start naming the bolts, I’ve seen them so often. I’m startin to scare
myself.
