Having seen Jon's intercooler 944 intercooler mod, 1. there is no room for the alternator, you have to move the alternator to left side of the engine. 2. we went hill hunting and no heat soak despite repeated runs in excess of 100 MPH and Jon spent about 400 coconuts getting the 944 intercooler, hoses, and having the end tanks modified, and of course his time. mod a 944 intercooler, or add a spal intercooler fan, or do both.
