Easy there.. If you really read the Ebay ad, he clearly states that the
car is located in Alsbach, Germany. How is that strange then? I think
he has the right to try to sell the car in more than one place.

It is a bit shady, however that the mobile.de says "Kein Klima" translates
to NO AC.
And in the ebay ad, he states the car has Air Conditioning.

But the price is reasonable really.. 7k EUR for the car in germany. That's
about $8900 already. Consider shipping costs ~$1k (included if you buy it
for 19k) and you're up to $10k. That leaves $9k for him getting the car
through customs and DOT + EPA approval , which is about the same that I
was quoted by a ICI for importing my 968CS.....

The thing that would worry me the most (besides the AC problem) is that
this bodystyle was never offered in the states, might make it impossible to
import.

His previous 3 examples were all sold in the US in slightly different form,
but with the same body structure (UrS Avant, M5 sedan, S8), so these cars
are "simple" to import if you're prepared to pay the $10-15k for the
customs/DOT/EPA process).

However as one lister has already found out from DOT, they are aware that
the S2/RS2 avants were never sold in similar body form in the US, and that
would cause a problem for importing it "above the table"

I haven't read the VWVortex stuff yet, but I will....

Cheers,
Keith
