Hmm,
Have had the same Koni's (with Eibach's) for 10+ years. Initially set for
mid-way stiffness but later increased to full stiff. Like them alot. Would
prefer easier method of adjustment. IMHO.
But, not too many potholes around here (Southern California).
Am considering them for the Audi 100. Maybe I'll do Bilstien's and
compare...

modification/replacement front and rear please.
I don't necessarily want to slam my '83 to the ground and ride height seems
fine to me, so I will likely do struts only - just want a little more
damping than stock.

Go with the Bilstein's! I've used both on my 4kq. The koni's were
wonderful when new but died within a year. The Bilstein's are smoother
(but firm) and are still good after 4 years.
