[urq] Odometer gear (mass buy?)

Bill,
I may be able to get an exact duplicate machined in brass with a coller for
a set-screw - I referenced the size as approximate in my email, not for
duplication, but just to help find the proper one. The cost may seem high
for such a small part, but the nylon gears in are simply destined to fail
over time. Almost all of the speedos with this mechanism I've encountered -
probably 20 or so have the same type of failure. If the gear isn't split,
it is slipping on the shaft - those can be fixed temporarily with red
locktite. I am certain a brass gear with a set screw is the long-term fix,
even though the nylon may last 100kmi. The brass would only be about $20
more than the nylon and I feel worth it. I encountered several good working
odometers from other VDO speedometers while searching for a replacement -
they all had brass pinion gears.
So anyone who is interested in getting one of these, LMK now so I can
specify how many. I would have to put up the additional funds initially, so
please be on your honor. The gears would be about $40 a copy - less each
the more I have made, but consider I would be footing the funding up
front.
Ben
