[urq] Interesting strut bearing info

No. The ones I just got are totally black and are the correct urq part
according to ETKA. My old ones are the "blues", which are "lower". That's
what is so weird. These "Blues" that everyone talks about--I don't see them
in ETKA-well under 1984 at least. I suppose I could look in 1983. And both
are "857" part numbers, which means urq.

I have some of the "greens" too. Unless there is a different "green" than
the 8A0...for the 4kq, then.....?

Brandon,
I believe what you have are the "greens" (are they painted green
on the underside?). They were original parts on the '90-91 Coupe
quattros which were heavier than the ur-q and yes they do raise
the car.

cheers, Mike

Hey fellas-
yes...another strut bearing post...

I got some strut bearings from Rod at TPC last week that he claimed were the
original urq strut bearings, but not painted blue (they're just black). I
received them and they had p/n 857 412 323 B. Sure enough this p/n matches
what TFA shows for the '84 urq. But here's the weird part. The "Blues"
that came out of my car, and at least one other Lister's car here in Denver,
have p/n 857 412 355 A. The 323 B part looks like it would theorhetically
raise the car a few mm compared to the 355 A. And both have 857 p/n's,
which I thought meant "urq part." The 323 B I received has stouter rubber
than what I've seen on the 8A0 (4kq) and GT coupe strut bearings. Anybody
know the story on the two seemingly urq specific parts???

Thanks-

Brandon
