[urq] shocks too

Hi Jason,

This might not be valid for your car since it is lowered, but maybe other
urQ owners are looking for stock cartridges. Anyway.

The units I bought for my 1983 urQ were "BOGE Original" hydraulic shock
absorbers. These are not "Turbo-Gas" or "Turbo", their brand name is BOGE
Automatic (!).

Front: 32-976-6
Rear : 32-977-6
Cost : about 125$ Canadian each.

NOTE: The label on the box says: Audi Quattro Sport, 80-up.
Hey, that "Sport" word must mean something, right? :-0

Regarding the ride: for me, living in the capital of potholes (Montreal),
these are plenty stiff, especially during the cold months. I drove Brady's
car during summer (Bilstein and H&R) and I can say they are 2 completely
different animals.

Mine is supple and glides over bumps, his is firm and sporty.

Mine is not a sports car when driving fast sweepy roads: too much lean and
too much weight transfer during acceleration or braking (Remember the press
photo of Walter braking hard in a Mars red car? Mine is like that...).

Brady's car is a lot more fun to drive fast, it never feels overwhelmed and
the tires are always in contact with the road. However, it is too low and
too stiff to attack everyday chores with grace.
(Please don't read this sentence too loud since Brady's car has a very fine
hearing and she is very, very sensitive to critics. If she hears that, she
might chew her timing belt or blow a valve seal... She can't read emails
though. Yet...)

83 urQ, critic-sensitive too!

-----Message d'origine-----

As some of you know from my recent doughnut footage, mu Ur is quite dumped.
Well now my shocks are starting to go out... so i need a replacement quick.
Whats the best shocks that you guys have come across? Put personal bias
aside please :)
