Brandon,
Check to make sure the ball joint securing pinch bolt is in the grove of the
ball joint pin. If not, then the control arm is likely (literally) sitting
on the ball joint when loaded. BTDT.

Subject: [urq] another clunk....
Hey guys-
I'm looking for some quick guidance-I have my car in at the dealer getting
aligned. I just finished (with lots of help-thanks Dennis, Dave and Ben)
putting in the Bilsteins. While I was in there I put in new ball joints all
around, new tie rods all around, and new strut bearings all around, and
front wheel bearings. As I drove (carefully) to the dealer for alignment, I
noticed that when the right side front wheel is unloaded, like when there is
a dip or sudden turn to the left, there is a small "pop" coming from up
there. I'm thinking first things to check (if it still happens when I get
the car back) are the main big nut the secures the strut insert into the
strut assembly and the slotted nut towards the top. I've already double
checked the bolts on top of the strut towers. I intend to go back over
everything after giving the car time to settle in...but a pointer here could
be helpful.
Thanks-
Brandon
