Brandon,
Couple of things.
Do you have lowering springs?
I found both, the '83 and '85 have a clunk when turning slowly (parking lot type manouvers), or under hard braking. Both have lowering springs and I haven't found other reason for the noise.
Also, did you use an impact gun to install the top 22mm self locking nut? Usually doing that loosens the special nut holding the strut bearing on BTDT.
Did you loosen the subframe at all... I had mine come loose. :(

>Hey guys-
>I'm looking for some quick guidance-I have my car in at the dealer getting aligned. I just finished (with lots of help-thanks Dennis, Dave and Ben) putting in the Bilsteins. While I was in there I put in new ball joints all around, new tie rods all around, and new strut bearings all around, and front wheel bearings. As I drove (carefully) to the dealer for alignment, I noticed that when the right side front wheel is unloaded, like when there is a dip or sudden turn to the left, there is a small "pop" coming from up there. I'm thinking first things to check (if it still happens when I get the car back) are the main big nut the secures the strut insert into the strut assembly and the slotted nut towards the top. I've already double checked the bolts on top of the strut towers. I intend to go back over everything after giving the car time to settle in...but a pointer here could be helpful.
