No, I always use the highest grade steel on all my replacment hardware and
nylon lock nuts..(the bolt and nut that came with the ball joint kit....).
The reason the ball joint came out of the strut housing on my 4kq is
because, ......again, the securing bolt was not flush with the groove in the
ball joint.  :)..
.But I agree, using quality hardware on critical suspension parts is HIGHLY
recommended..
