you have two problems, the hard pedal delay is a bad bomb. the pedal that ends up on the floor assuming you have no brake fluid loss is a bypassing master cylinder, the only thing unusual is for both to happen at the same time. Bill PS the known good bomb? what pressure did it retain after one pump engine off. did you test it or this a shot from the hip? known good bomb? sheet ! they can be tested easily.

My car does this as well, and this just after I had all four calipers
and rotors replaced. I know it's not the bomb, because I've swapped it
with a known good part and this still happens. A friend of mine who is
a mechanic insists that that's just the way hydraulically boosted
brakes are, but I don't believe that to be true. If it's a simple, as
Phil suggests, as a brake bleed, I'd be really happy. I've been
reading messages on the lack of availability of the brake servo and
getting nervous.
