... what is short to one person may be long to another ... ;-)
I too received a set of long inserts from the dealer ... to show how little
things change ... this was probably back in the late 1980s, when the urq
should still have been fairly fresh in mind ... :-)
The longer inserts are for the air shrouded injectors, and they may very
well fit into a WX head, but unless you have the air line from the intake
manifold to the head to provide the airflow you will not realize much
benefit from them. If you have an MC engine in your car it will have the
longer inserts ... and the air line to the head ...
... another intriguing point ... I purchased what I was told by Carlsen was
the last WX head casting in the USA ... no, I do not count this as gospel
... but in any event the new head has the brass fitting for the shroud air
installed ... I expect it has the internal passageways to support this as
well ... who knows, some day I might actually use those inserts that have
been sitting in a box for 15 years or so!
