Cool! Good to hear it made a difference! Funny, since posting earlier, I
had to go in and work on my former 4kQ. When I did the clutch I tried
staking the ball into the shift rod at the tranny end ... the thing had
worked loose again. I thought I would post that after disconnecting the
linkage at the shifter and tranny end ... and popping the boot loose at the
tranny tunnel I was able to remove the linkage intact. New shifter, plus
rebuilt clutch M/C and new flex hose and slave cylinder ... about the only
thing that wasn't replaced in the linkage was the locating arm. The shifter
works very well and the clutch does too ... but we're still getting coupling
from the engine to tranny input shaft with the clutch in ... must be the
pilot bearing ...
Anyway ... got a bit carried away there ... I looked back through my
archives and didn't see any posts on the "power problem" ... post up the
info on your car and the problem you are seeing ... perhaps someone here can
provide some useful input there ...
