[urq] engine stalling

a) The MB is an MC-1 (single knock sensor) with the emission control removed.  Scott Mockry's
site at http://www.sjmautotechnik.com has a MASS of useful diagnostic stuff for the MC
engine - look down the Audi 5000 1987 thread.  The site has been down for a couple of days -
Scott changed providers and the new ones haven't got their act together yet.  He's on their
case today.

b) Does it stall lean or rich?  Easiest check is to shove a Gunson Colortune in #1 and operate
the throttle manually while looking down the Colortune - blue (lean) or yellow (rich).

Any more history that might be relevant?

Otherwise - superficially - it might well be a collapsing accordion hose - from the metering
head down to the turbo.  No choice but to go to Audi, mortgage in hand.
