Well Charlie, I am in the same boat!

In fact, I found my Quattro just BECAUSE it was Mars red!
This color is my preferred since I saw early-80s Jetta GLI and 1984-85 BMW
318i painted that color. Always wanted an orange-red car since.

More, I would have not noticed it in the Volvo dealership parking lot (where
I was inspecting a... hum... Jaguar XJ40...) if it would have been a more
"common" color. I was not looking for a Quattro but this orange-ish car was
ther screaming "Here I am! Buy me"

My girlfriend can testify: when I saw it, I went completely crazy, jumping,
running around it, speechless... (...Me? Speechless? Doesn't happen
often...)

I never met an urq color I didn't like.  Porsche has put some wild nice 
colors on the 911 in the last decade (and a multitude of vile choices have
been made by some Florida cab owners..)
