[urq] Intermittent Dead Tach

... probably an electrical connection at the instrument cluster IMO.  I just
went through an issue with the IC on my former 4kQ ... fuel and temp gauges
intermittent.  Found there was a broken trace on the flexible PC board that
provides interconnect.  If you are seeing an intermittent tach, my first
recommendation would be to pull the IC and check out the connections to the
tach ... hit the interface pins with a contact enhancer like DeoxIt or
Stabilant and put it back together.  I don't know how you hooked in the 3B
... if it is still stock wiring to the IC you are probably OK.
