Hey Ben, those are good points. My only comment is I did say I'm reasonable
and any good explaination would have been good with me. None came from the
guy. The only comment I ever got was "It's in customs in New York. I'll have
a tracking number soon". That came over 3 weeks after I ordered it. Here we
are 7 days later and I still do not have a tracking number or any further
explaination. I don't like being a big asshole. All the guy had to do is
tell me when he shipped it, that it was out of his hands and had been tied
up in customs. Because he never offered me any such information it's kind of
hard to be sympathetic. Heck, even if he said "Anton, I dropped the ball and
shipped it late, my apologies" I would have been happy. Just be straight up.
That's all I ask...

  Anton,

I'm not trying to stick up for Stebro or anyone else for that matter, only
that I was advised recently that there have been holdups/backlogs at customs
(unrelated shipments) between US and CANADA for as much as 4 weeks. I think
similar delays are occurring to/from other countries as well, as some things
I've sent seem to be taking weeks instead of days.

I know Dan and Stebro can be slow, but I have gotten my 2 exhaust
systems from them no problem - turnaround was usually 2-3 weeks. That was a
few years ago however.

Remember, patience and politeness pays off in dividends. I hope you see
the system soon - I hate waiting for parts.

  Ben

  All,

As of today it has been 1 month since I ordered my Stebro exhaust for my
urquattro. One month! When I called Dan to order he said he had one built and
ready and that it would take 10 to 14 days to ship. Within 24 hours my
credit card had been tapped for the $700+.

Two weeks ago when I called again and I was told I'd have it by mid week
last week but still no exhaust. Finally on Friday he said it was at customs
in New York and he'd have me a tracking number that day. Here it is Weds.
Nov 3rd, one phone call and 3 or 4 emails later and still no tracking
number.

Clearly this guy is dishonest or his life is in chaos. Clearly he
couldn't have had one ready to ship and he lied to get my business. I cannot
see any other way a month could pass and a system ready to ship still hasn't
arrived.

Anyone want to post this to other car lists please feel free. Maybe
Stebro will get their act together or driven out of business from this
HORRIBLE customer service. To say I am upset and disappointed is an
understatement. My quattro has been on a rack for weeks waiting. All the
other work on the car long since completed.

In closing, I'm a reasonable guy. Any good, honest explaination would
have been fine with me. None ever came....

  Anton]
