[urq] The price of greatness

That's kind of ironic, we are all looking to know that our cars are
"rare and unique and in someway irreplaceable". People will pay for that
(some will not let them go either). Many of us have been fighting for
insurance companies to pay what the cars are "worth" when lost. Now you
think your car is not worth 7K?(Not sure what you paid for your car or
the condition?)

I would like to think that being one of 700ish in the US (well maybe not
half that anymore) would make the car much more valuable. And a nice
clean one un-molested would/could be worth more. With a last point that
driving in an Ur-quattro not only is fun, but getting the attention of
others also adds to the pleasure of owning something rare.

When I see someone in a 50k-80K Mercedes stare at me/my (humm maybe he
was looking in horror?) car gives me satisfaction that I did not need to
spend 10x as much for a nice car?

I for one hope the value climbs as they become more sort after...

I'm just hoping I won't need to DEQ mine anymore ;)

What's with all the high priced Urs available recently? Do people
really pay the 11 grand some people are asking? I mean, I see the guy
in california asking 7 for his barely complete black car and there was
recently a guy in my area selling a gold one with peeling paint and a
fire under the hood for the same price! What are these people thinking?
Do people actually pay that much? I feel that I got a fair deal on
mine, but I don't think it was cheap nor overpriced. If I get
everything straightened out on my car, can I double the price? I
understand there's the whole desire and rarity factor, but it seems like
people are asking nearly twice the price because they're somewhat rare.
Though I've never seen another on the road, I've seen several for sale.
Just takes a little patience.

Also, what's the deal with Fuchs wheels? I know 8" Ronals have some
desireability, but are these as collectable? I saw a set on ebay go for
$75, guess I should have picked them up!
