John,

That was me.  I (maybe incorrectly) assumed everyone knew they were forged
(the reason they're so light and strong).  They were also never an option on
the Urq here in the states, but were only available as an option on later
5ktq cars in the US.  Due to their design, snow/ice doesn't tend to get
stuck and cause imbalances like the regular ronal wheels.  Agreed, great
choice for winter driving especially.
