Speaking of UrQ values, did you guys see the white '83 in Sports Car Market, at a NY auction? As follows:
1983 Audi Quattro coupe
WAUDL0856DA900522
white/gray leather
45,850 mi, 5 sp.
"White paint has lots of fade, however still has enough color for one or two more buffings. Not so for the mostly faded blackout trim. Lots of dings on the trailing edge of driver's door-opened in anger too many times? Yoko Avid V4 tires. Interior dry and cracked, looks to have more wear than miles admit. Condition: 4+ SOLD AT $4180"
Reporter's opinion: "sold to a dealer. That should clue you in that he thought it was cheap enough to make a buck on it. Run this bad boy through the detail shop, immerse the blackout trim in Armor All, and drench the leather with Hyde Food. That's one way to clean up all the Audi doody!"
... Kinda interesting to see one pop up at auction like that, cheeky reporter comments or not. As far as values, I consider my car to be worth every penny of the 8500 I paid for it in '99, but I wouldn't sell it for under 10 simply because I like it so much. That, and I've spend waaaayy to much on it since then addressing issues that afflict every UrQ, regardless of condition, and a few upgrades. So I'd be upside down no matter what :)
