[urq] AP Calipers

I bought a few sets of sport quattro calipers and pads (made by AP) a
few
years back. These calipers do have dust shields and were oem equipment
on the sport road cars. Phenomenal braking feel, as good as the 993
turbo calipers on my S6, you can modulate them very nicely from very
high speed.

Only draw backs I have found is the rotors (sport quattro) are not
hub centric and need to be torqued carefully, A6 4.2 quattro rotors
can be trimmed to work and they are hub centric. The other disadvantage
is they only work with 8" ronals, Fuchs, BBS 200q20v, 15" V8 wheels
don't
work. I only really like the look of Ronals or Fuchs wheels on an
ur-q. Though I understand why people upgrade to bigger wheels for
the bigger brakes... There were special wide Fuchs used by the rally
cars which would work with AP calipers.

I am running 195/55 A520s and fuchs on my '85 at the moment a very
light combination.

Cheers, Mike

Where can I get more information on the AP calipers. And what
specifically they work with in regard to rotors, caliper carriers, pads,
ect?

What is the pricing, reality of using them on a street car? I understand
they work really well, but not so well in a car on the street, unless
frequently disassembled. Also heard they work under the 15 x 8 Ronals
