While I was reading an old article from Road & Track june 1983 about our 
cars, one bit of info got me thinking.

They list the difference between the Typ 43 turbo and the WX. The 
interesting part is this one:
"There are titanium valve guides for better heat dissipation from the 
valve area."

Is this true? Is this the reason there was no guide wear at all when the 
head of my engine was rebuilt last year?

Hey! titanium is a "noble" metal in my book!
