[urq] Coolant Temp Gauge install

Hey Justin,

When I did this swap last summer on my 85 I had to swap a pin in the 10-pin
connector on the back of the instrument cluster. There should be a
blue/brown wire that needs to move to pin 5 on the connector. This way the
signal is routed to the gauge instead of the warning light on the printed
circuit. Also check the 2 pin sensor on top of the coolant flange. If the
two wires are blue/brown and blue/yellow you are all set. My car already had
the correct temp sensor from the factory.

Subject: [urq] Coolant Temp Gauge install

This long weekend I had the time to pull the instrument cluster and fix
my broken odometer. JB Quick solved the split gear slipping problem and
my odometer now registers miles. While I was in there, I decided to
remove the stock boost gauge, and replace it with the temp gauge from a
4000q. Cleaned all contacts, freed up the adjuster for the fuel gauge,
and removed the bulb from the blue (cold engine) light. All back
together, I drove it to the gas station this morning, filled up ($45
worth of Premium 93). My fuel gauge now goes all the way to full. (So
2 problems fixed)

My newly installed Coolant Temp Gauge does not register anything at all.

So I checked the connections at the back of the head, they look clean.
I tried grounding each connection, but no joy.

I cannot find my Bentley at the moment to trace wires. Any suggestions
(or Copies of the applicable wiring diagram sections) appreciated.

-Justin
