Which reminds me of another thing I recently encountered before I ripped the
IC to TB hose on my Urq:
I guess this does sound kinda like "blehhhh". It was not constant, but did
get worse, like the engine was choking -- first at around 4K (but only under
hard accel) then progressively lower RPM. Turned out to be corrosion at the
positive lead for the fuel pump. I had already done the FP relay mod -- but
if the connection isn't good at the fuel pump, it really won't help.
Anyhow, changed that and replaced the ignition coil with MSD Blaster coil
and all is well. Unlike the later cars, the CIS ones are much more finicky
when it comes to fuel pressure and they need lots of it. HTH
