Remove the bleed screw in the top of the rad. Remove the 3 screws holding
the reservoir. Fill the reservoir and lift it up as high as the hoses will
allow until coolant flows out of the bleed screw hole. Replace the bleed
screw then lower and replace the reservoir, "adjust" the level in the
reservoir. Simple as that!

Subject: [urq] coolant bleeding
I feel really stupid even asking this, but oh well.
What is the best procedure for bleeding the coolant system? I've always
just opened (carefully) the reservoir cap after the motor warms up. Would
do it several times and add coolant as needed.
But my radiator has a bleeder screw on top. And recently after a drive
there seemed to be much "gurgling" in the system after shutdown - much more
than usual. So I loosened the bleeder screw and it seemed like there was
quite a bit of air coming out. I would have thought this would have been
bled out by now.
Keep in mind I do have a water cooled turbo.
Thoughts?
TIA
Brandon
