You're right of course Ed, you could put a smaller wing on the car.  But the
whole "feel" of the car is different.  It's designed to stick out, even if
it has to be dog ugly to do it.

I just turned 27, so I don't consider myself old, but it seems like most of
the younger crowd will take a wild looking Evo or STi over and understated
Audi or BMW any day.  Most of my friends wouldn't be caught dead in one of
those cars, even if they recognize that they're great performers.

Me, I like a car that doesn't necessarily stand out, that doesn't have
purple cloth on the interior or carbon fiber on the dash or a titanium shift
knob.

In re: the big wings on the Evo or STi, I was just wondering and
thought that surely you could find an base Evo or Imprezza (do they
still sell these?) owner who would trade the whole trunk lid and wing
with you.  Seems to me that'd be a pretty direct bolt-on swap. 
Wouldn't do much for the gape-mouthed scoops etc...
