[urq] ALMS Laguna Seca 2004 photos

It was a first for me to shoot the night racing. It is very difficult to pan
with the cars going past so close and so fast.  This one was taken with a
55mm lens at 1/100th of a second and f7.1.

Look how long the lights in the background streaked. I was very pleased with
the result even if noisy. BTW the downsampling emphasized the noise. It's
not that bad in an A4 print.
    The corkscrew shots are indeed taken with a 70-300mm zoom although most
are closer to 200 mm because it's a really cheap lens (no L glass here) and
doesn't look so good at 300mm. I do have the benefit(?) of a 1.6 crop factor
from my APS sized sensor though, so it looks like 300mm.
   The Drebel's small buffer and slow write definitely made it difficult. At
best, I could only get 4 pictures per lap with little or no chimping. I also
had to prefocus a lot of the photos since I have no USM lenses. I did chimp
a bit to see if I was close on the panning, exposure and focus, but didn't
have to do many in camera deletes.
